Review by hotel critic
I recently visited the Pillar for a friend's wedding, and while I mostly came for the celebration, the culinary experience was truly outstanding. The restaurant impressed with a beautifully cooked beef dish, topped with caramelized onions - a dish I wish I could have devoured in double portions! For my midday break, I indulged at the OutPost Café. The lunch was enjoyable and creatively prepared, elevating simple ingredients into something delightful. The ambiance was relaxing, with a rustic charm that melded perfectly with the stunning gardens nearby. The hotel's historic decor, framed by impressive timber trusses, provided a captivating backdrop that spoke to my appreciation for architecture. I took a chance with the pear garden salad, a delightful mix of flavors that suited my dietary restrictions nicely. Facilities like the outdoor pool and spa were a treat; I thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing soak in the hot tub. The staff exhibited warmth and attentiveness throughout my stay. If you're into flavor and tranquility, give the Pillar a visit!
